Barrie is a city in central Ontario on the shores of the western arm of Lake Simcoe on Kempenfelt Bay. The city is located within Simcoe County in the Northern part of the Greater Golden Horseshoe. It is less than an hour up Highway 400 from Toronto. 

The population is approximately 195,000 and is the 21st largest city in Canada. It is also proudly known as the 3rd best place to live in Ontario. Barrie is known as the gateway to Ontario's Cottage Country and has a great deal of waterfront and greenspace throughout. 

Barrie has been designated an Urban Growth Centre by the Province of Ontario. It has rapidly become a bedroom community for Toronto and the GTA.

Barrie has become an important Tourism destination in Ontario. It's historical downtown and beautiful waterfront have become very popular for people to visit. Barrie attracts many visitors in the summer for its great beaches and boating as Lake Simcoe is attached to the Trent Severn Waterway.Barrie hosts many unique and worldwide renowned special events and festivals throughout the year.
